Background:

Situated in the residential area of Kimbolton, Overhills County Primary was built in 1974 and is set in 'spacious grounds' which are being improved through tree planting, living willow tunnels and seating provided by the parent-teacher association (PTA). There is also an environmental area with a pond and bird hide. Extra-curricular activities available for pupils include sport, music, French, information and communications technology and craft clubs. Parents were active in helping to provide the school with the facilities to allow every child access to computers, internet, e-mail and the school's own intra-net. The school is part of the Health Promoting Schools Project and promotes healthy eating, drinking and anti-bullying. There is a school forum with pupil representatives from reception to Year 6. This allows children to have a voice in the school and meets in conjunction with the PTA to discuss fundraising and needs. The school's mission is 'to prepare every pupil for their future, by delivering a rounded education, valuing and sharing all their efforts and achievements in an organised environment'.
