Background:
The school opened in 1972, marking the return of a school to the village after nearly 25 years. The school is set in spacious grounds in the centre of the village and the building has been extended in the 1970s and again more recently. Accommodation consists of nine teaching bays, a library, hall, computer room, audio-visual room, kiln room, and administration area. There is a small outdoor garden and secure outdoor play area for reception children. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are open to junior children: football, netball, art club, chess club, recorders and drama. Parents are encouraged to involve themselves in the classroom and a Year six committee organises much charity fundraising for causes including Macmillan nurses and NCH Action for Children.
