Background:
St Peter's School was founded in 1870 and has served the people of the Huntingdon area. St Peter's is a well-established comprehensive school with a record of success in providing high-quality education to the full range of students aged 11-18. Its aim to ensure that each student achieves his or her potential academically while developing into a responsible, confident and purposeful citizen. It believes in a broad and balanced curriculum that is accessible to all its students. There is a strong tradition in sport and it encourages and values a wide range of major sports. Students from all years have the opportunity to join dance clubs. Students have the opportunity to become involved in a range of drama activities and productions. The main hall and stage are fully equipped with lighting and sound for large-scale productions. It also has a well-equipped drama studio and performing arts centre. The school'supports a number of charities, which are chosen by the students themselves through their Year Councils. 'The school provides a happy, caring, stable and orderly environment in which the best quality teaching, learning and development can take place'.
