Background:

Classrooms at Welbourne School are arranged in a semi open-plan layout around three courtyards. The school is situated in a new town with large grassed and wooded areas and cycle paths, so children are encouraged to walk or cycle to school rather than use a car. The catchment area is varied. Lessons are available in violin, flute and clarinet, and brass instrument instruction has recently been introduced. Sport is encouraged. The school has recently moved the local playground into the school premises making it even more of a community school. A new meeting room has been built to enable community groups to meet here. Welbourne Primary School ensures that its pupils enjoy learning in a safe stimulating environment.
