Background:
Brampton Junior was founded by Lady Olivia Sparrow in the mid-19th century, and has since been expanded twice. The grounds are and the buildings 'spacious' with netball courts and a football pitch among the facilities. A 'very musical school', Brampton has an orchestra, windband, choir and recorder groups. Extra-curricular activities include football, netball, athletics, art, science, folk club, French and drama. Pupils are encouraged to think of the needs of others, raising money for local, national and international charities and supporting a primary school and orphanage in Uganda. Brampton is working on a project with schools in Hungary, Norway, Germany and Wales and has partnerships with teacher training departments at Homerton College, Cambridge and DeMontfort University.
