Background:

Paston Ridings Primary opened in 1994 following the amalgamation of Paston Ridings infant and junior schools. There are two classes in each year group. The buildings were new in the 1960s and has 14 carpeted classrooms, each with a practical area and storage area. There are also two halls, a staffroom and offices, two playgrounds, a large field and an above-ground swimming pool. The catchment area consists of a mixture of private and rented housing on the north-eastern side of the city of Peterborough. Parents 'actively' support the school and can been found helping in the classrooms and practical areas. The parent-teacher and friends organisation supports the school by organising social and fundraising events. Paston Ridings Primary aims 'to create a warm, friendly, caring, secure and stimulating environment to promote successful teaching and effective learning'.
