Background:
Oundle and King's Cliffe Middle School was established in 1992 by the amalgamation of Oundle Middle School and King's Cliffe Middle School. Both schools had originally been created in 1971. The two sites are located eight miles apart, but no pupils are required to commute between sites as part of the normal curriculum. Extra-curricular activities include information and communication technology (ICT) clubs, choirs, orchestra and sport. Links with the local language college allow the school to offer French in Years 5 and 6 and German in Years 7 and 8 as club activities. Events from theatre visits to Civil War and Roman invasion re-enactments are also offered in order to enrich the curriculum. Funds are raised each year for a variety of charities nominated by the pupils.
