Background:

The school opened with a small student population on a very large site in 1969. The school also has access to a refurbished, heated indoor swimming pool and 'extensive, well maintained' grounds. The school offers an orchestra, choirs and drama, and its sporting achievements are 'consistently high'.The school is currently undergoing an extensive building programme which will remodel much of the existing school and add new sporting, drama, music, dance and ICT facilities. This £10 million investment will result in an increase on role to 1640 students from September 2007. Jack Hunt School exists to provide high quality teaching and learning in a caring environment to develop the full potential of all the students.
