Background:

Brington CofE Primary School was opened in 1969 when smaller village schools in the area were closed. The school provides an attractive, welcoming and caring environment where high academic standards are promoted and help children to develop attitudes of mutual respect, responsibility and self-discipline. The School is concerned that all children, regardless of gender, race or physical ability, develop to their full potential, by providing them with a range of opportunities. Facilities of the school comprises four classrooms, one mobile classroom, hall/gymnasium, dining room, reference library, large playing field, heated outdoor swimming pool, adventure playground and environmental area. In 2000, Brington won the Cambridgeshire library quiz and the small schools netball tournament. The school has an 'active' football team and many pupils also learn to play the recorder, violin or cello. Close links have been developed with the local community and there is an 'active' parent teacher association. Christian values are built into the ethos of the school and the strong relationships built up between school, home and community. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
