Background:
One of the original village colleges designed by Henry Morris in 1937, the school is set in large well-planted and maintained grounds including lawns, borders and 'superb' sporting facilities. The school offers particularly good facilities in technology and information technology and has a strong tradition of visual and performing arts. Community facilities and activities are arrange in the evenings and at weekends, with adult education and leisure pursuits at its fully-equipped sports centre. It has received a Sports Council award for community sport.
