Background:

Coleridge Community College began life over sixty years ago as two schools, Coleridge Boys' and Coleridge Girls', each housed in one half of the present building. The two schools merged in 1966 and in 1974 Coleridge became a comprehensive school. The local authority designated Coleridge a Community College in 1979. The college provides excellent facilities right across the curriculum. The college has three rooms equipped with computers, there are ten computers in the library/resources centre and another eight dedicated to the Learning Centre. Broadband internet access is available throughout the school. The facilities for sport include the main field with excellent provision for rugby, football and hockey as well as a 400m athletics track. It has three floodlit tennis/netball courts, two practice cricket nets and a gymnasium. Coleridge is a community college, which provides a rich learning environment for students of all ages and from all walks of life.
