Background:
Situated in Fenland surroundings in northern Cambridgeshire; the school was named after Lionel Walden, who bequeathed a sum of money in his will to be used to build a school in the village of Doddington in the late 1700s. New classrooms, a hall and offices were built in 1993 to cater for the increasing roll. Two further classrooms were added in 1998 making eight in total.
