Background:

Hereward is a co-educational comprehensive community college located on the eastern side of the City of Peterborough. It has excellent facilities as a result of several important building programmes over recent years. These include music rooms, drama area, art rooms and pottery and a dining hall. The college also has computer suites, interactive whiteboards and well-equipped library with internet. In addition there are extensive sports facilities including fully equipped and sprung floor gymnasium, large playing fields, astroturf pitch and two indoor climbing walls. In addition to the mainstream curriculum the college offers an enrichment programme that gives students further opportunities to experience other activities. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of visits. These include trips to theatre productions and workshops. The college aims to provide the appropriate experiences and environment that will ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve at the highest level regardless of ability, gender or ethnic background.
