Background:
Deacon's School is situated in central Peterborough close to parkland and the school is set in its extensive ground. The school provides education for poor boys. The original school opened in the following year and it became fully comprehensive and co-educational in 1976. The school is particularly well provided with information technology facilities. The school has strong links with Peterborough Rugby Club, Peterborough Town Hockey Club and Peterborough United Football Club. It stages ambitious dramatic production involving pupils from all parts of the school and offers instrumental tuition in strings, woodwind, brass and keyboard. The school provides opportunities for students with a significant cohort of students taking GCSE and IGSEs in year 10. The school aims to maximise achievement of the pupils having the highest expectations of the school community.
