Background:
Hatton Park was founded on its current site in 1952, and over the years, has served the village of Longstanton and the service families of Oakington barracks. Numbers have fallen recently, due to the closure of the barracks. The school'site is large with spacious classrooms and two halls. Beautiful grounds include two wildlife ponds, two football pitches, two playgrounds, a variety of play equipment, a woodland area and a swimming pool. The school also boasts a modern information and communications technology suite with computers connected to the Internet. Every child receives weekly German lessons from a specialist teacher and instrumental lessons are on offer in several wind, brass and percussion instruments. There is also a choir. Parents are welcome to help in the school and are encouraged to take an active role in their children's education. The school aims to provide an environment where learning is fun.
