Background:
Fulbridge Community School was opened in October 1955 and serves an area in the north of Peterborough City comprising of a mixture of council and private housing. The facilities within the school include 12 classes, an 'extensive' library, a music/TV room, a 'small' special needs base, a large hall, a resource area for art, craft and technology in addition to a section XI base for New Commonwealth pupils and a recovery reading programme. Outdoors, the school has a teaching pool for swimming, one large hard surfaced playground, a small playing field and an environmental area comprising a pond, trees, shrubs and wild flowers. Participation in extra-curricular activities is encouraged and the school provides a full range of sports with a number of teams that compete regularly, guitar and violin are offered, as are Italian classes, and the school holds an annual camp in the Forest of Dean. The school pursues 'excellence through continuous improvement'.
